Embouchure
For flute, just as with other instruments, proper embouchure and air is how you will create the best sound. However, especially with flute, air support and quantity is essential to your success. Flute embouchure is also flexible to fit the shape of your lips if need be (in the case of a "tear-drop" top lip), so don't give up if you struggle at first while you develop the muscles you need.

--> polish your flute regularly; some people have more acidic fingers and it will tarnish the metal
** clean your flute from the foot joint up
** get your flute tuned up and professionally cleaned yearly
