My Story
Hi friends!

My name is Moriah Margaret Jensen and I am a developing music educator and composer based in Minnesota. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in December 2023 after I completed my student teaching experience in the Twin Cities Metro area. At Gustavus, I was involved in the music department as a performer, student employee, tutor, teaching assistant, and of course as a learner. I had many opportunities to conduct, compose, and perform, and I am extremely grateful and blessed by my time and education there.

I grew up in a musical household and was very well-supported by my parents in all of my musical pursuits. No matter what financial constraints were present, they never told me I couldn't do something that I wanted to do. I took piano lessons from age four to sixteen and sang in church. I started band in fifth grade and chose oboe as my primary instrument. Also in fifth grade, I was inspired by my English teacher to pursue a career in education. That experience paired with my love of music set me on the path to where I am today.

Now, I am proud to say I am a music educator, composer, and instrumentalist. My main focus is educating my students and providing each of them with a holistic and high-quality music education. Secondary to this, I compose music that I hope touches people's hearts as much as music has touched mine. I believe music has a unique power and role in connecting human beings to one another, and through education, composition, and performance I hope to be a conduit for music to reach others in significant ways.
